Designer Tinker Hatfield once said that Michael Jordan's playing style reminded him of a fighter plane, as he would emerge from the side-lines and attack. This observation inspired the design of the fifth Air Jordan, taking design elements from the Supermarine Spitfire MkVIII, a World War II fighter plane. This premium edition features a red leather upper with 3M branding to the tongue, plus a visible air unit in the midsole and a set of flat red laces - 136027-602, Leather Upper/Synthetic Sole.
