The Nike Air Max Uptempo 97 (2018) is an iteration of the Air Max Uptempo 97 – previously known as the Air Max Uptempo 3. These sneakers were first worn by the Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen in 1997, and then by several stars at the collegiate level. The upper construction boasts a combination of leather and mesh. The design includes signature teardrop accents that line the wavy design of the midsole. For branding, it has the signature "Air" logo embroidered in cursive, in addition to its Jordan 6-like heel tab. A Phylon midsole works with the full-length Max Air unit for superior cushioning. A black rubber outsole delivers sufficient grip on various surfaces. The standout feature is its visible Air Max units in the midsole, providing impact absorption and cushioning. This technology enhances comfort during every step, making the shoe not only visually striking, but also functionally comfortable for extended wear.
