It is named after the fictional character Johnny Kilroy, created as part of a marketing campaign during Michael Jordan's first retirement from basketball in the mid-90s. The shoe features a high-top profile with a combination of leather, nubuck, and synthetic materials on the upper, while the midsole and outsole are made of durable rubber. The shoe is adorned with a black-and-white block color scheme, with black covering the majority of the shoe. White covers the top part and runs behind the heel, extending through the mudguard to the edge of the toe box. The shoes were released for retail on October 6th, 2012, at $160.
